I was just listening to the glass armonica, played by Dennis James , featured on a Naxos recording of Mozart's Adagio and Rondo. A wonderful ethereal sounding instrument. The one pictured here was invented by Ben Franklin. Another kind of glass armonica is comprised of wine glasses tuned by water level, shown here on YouTube in a performance of a well-known Bach bourrée. Check it out, it's wonderful! Perhaps you've run a wet finger around the rim of a wine glass to get this unworldly sound. If not, try it sometime. I'm thinking of buying the CD Music for Glass Harmonica . From today's playlist...
